“We support Google Fiber in Austin, MN. Google Fiber will allow us to do many great things. As a congregation Google Fiber would allow both our church and our members the bandwidth needed to listen to our sermons/services online, and possible stream them in the future. Google Fiber would also give our church the bandwidth that would allow us to host our own web-server, which would allow us to save money, and save time with our website updates. Our site would become faster and more reliable with Google Fiber at our church and in our community.”

My maiden name is McLaughlin and my parents were a big part of Westminster Presbyterian for many years. Indeed, my dad was a big help in designing the church building … especially insisting that it be one story so that handicapped people could attend. Gene owned the Square Deal Grocery Store on Main Street for many years.
I graduated from AHS in 1956 and a few years thereafter was married in your church. Following that my husband and I moved to Asia and stayed there for the next 25 years.
I have written a book about those first years in Japan. I make many references to Austin, comparing it to Asia. There are also many mentions of the church, also my only point of life reference back then. It’s all very upbeat and fun. I was thinking that some of your members might still remember Gene and Margaret McLaughlin and their four children, and might even enjoy reading the book.
Sincerely, Peggy McLaughlin Keener
